Local Resident Wins Contest And Gets A Free Giants Tattoo Thanks To Lou’s

The Giants victory over the 49ers last week generated a lot of excitement, and in lieu of the victors moving on to face the Patriots in the Super Bowl, Tattoo Lou’s decided to host a contest yesterday ensuring that select participants would get a free Giants-themed tattoo at our St. James location.

One of the two chosen winners was 29-year-old Centereach native Jimmy Oliveira who arrived promptly at the shop, sporting signature Giants’ apparel from head-to-toe.

Joel was there to administer the tattoo, and as it happens, both he and Jimmy have been friends for quite some time.

“My friend Joel let me know that he was gonna be here, he knows I’m a huge Giant fan, so I got all decked out and came down to help celebrate my team and support them,” said Oliveira.

Prior to winning the contest Oliveira had never gotten a single tattoo done, but viewed the experience in a positive light knowing that he would be letting his admiration show when he watches this year’s Super Bowl live from the stands, thanks to yet another contest he won, awarding him tickets to the game.

“It was great having Joel do it for me, he’s a good friend of mine, it’s really nice and something I’ll have forever,” said Oliveira after his session was over. “It’s just a great thing to look down upon and hopefully it brings me some good luck.”

After admiring his finished piece, the Giants fan stated that he was confident that his team would ‘come out with a win’ and that he sees himself getting more ink done in the future.

Oliveira was ultimately very happy with his treatment at Lou’s and the excitement he felt from winning our contest was palpable.

“It was great getting it [the tattoo], it didn’t hurt at all and I look forward to getting my next one,” he said. “The shop is very nice, it’s very beautiful. They’ve got good people, and a very friendly atmosphere here.”

Join us tonight for the last Islander home game of 2011. The arrival of the World Famous Tattoo Lou’s Penalty Box has been met with great reception and its continued success relies on the help of our supporters. So, we welcome all Islander hopefuls and game attendees to stop by for a look at what we’ve got to offer. Namely, temporary and airbrushed tats for the kids, tees for both sexes and in all sizes, photo opportunities with our lovely Ink Girls and the chance to get a real tattoo or piercing during game time! Please remember that even though the current year is at an end, you can expect Lou’s to close out the remaining 2011-2012 NHL season as the official tattoo shop  of the New York Islanders!

Blacksmith Tavern Welcomed Lou’s With Open Arms, Lou’s Returned With Holiday Blowout!

Last night’s Tattoo Lou’s Art/ Fusion Party at Blacksmith Tavern in Smithtown was a blast and we’d like to take the time to thank all who attended. The night was filled with holiday cheer, gourmet grub, killer tunes and amazing original artwork supplied to us by our famed team. Po Po, of the Deer Park Lou’s location, hit the ground running following dinner by producing some dynamite artwork on a aisle set up in the middle of the barroom floor, much to the amazement of the patrons, while Irish Jay and Joel worked on a charcoal skull design on white canvas opposite Po. And that was before more artists grabbed canvases and joined in on the fun! Between all of the boogying down, camera flashes, and beers clanging, you got the sense that the wait to see our tattoo artists contribute to one another’s original artwork in real-time, as part of a greater collaborate effort, was well-worth the wait, and more than lived up to the hype! Of course, a special thanks goes out to everyone at Blacksmith’s who welcomed us into their bar and put up with our wild shenanigans. See you next time, friends!

This holiday season, receive an additional $25 for every $100 gift card you purchase online or in stores.

You can buy the gift card online here.

This year, Tattoo Lou’s was a special guest at the New York Islanders’ Draft Party at Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale. Irish Jay and Alecia were tattooing right on the rink—the crowd was so big, they could barely keep up with the ink! For those looking for a less permanent form of body art, Chris from Tattoo Lou’s was there doing body and face painting.

Islanders Assistant Coach Scott Allen stopped by the Huntington shop earlier in the week to get inked by New York’s best. Alecia gave Scott two great tattoos—the initials of his two daughters, and his own personal motto—“101% always”—tattooed on his ribs. His motto is important to both him and the Islanders, as it is a reminder to always do your best, no matter what. Want to meet Scott? Well, the man, when not on the ice, is busy riding his Harley, and he’ll be at the Tattoo Lou’s Second Annual Bike Run and Benefit! Have you bought your tickets yet?
