Yes, it's campaign season, and Tattoo Lou's is counting down the the election with a look at tattoos of the politically motivated!
But wait, Republican tattoos? The GOP? The ultra-conservatives?? Believe it or not, there are those who get themselves inked in support of Mitt & company, seemingly defying the values of the party. It's not surprising, however, when you think of the right-wing talk shows that use hard rock and metal music for their intros, and the gung-ho attitude and passion of modern-day Republicans. There really is something rock and roll about the GOP in a weird way, and yes, it just gets weirder:
5. The Ron Paul Revolution
Almost no politician has stirred up as much of a grassroots following as Ron Paul has over the last eight years. Though the movement has been largely ignored by the mainstream press, Paul's followers have found other ways to publicize their support, such as inking up to get his name out there, and sometimes his face as well.

4. Sarah Palin
We're not sure if this is a tribute or a mocking tattoo, but it's Sarah Palin as drawn by a boardwalk cartoonist, apparently.
3. Rock on, Radical Republican!!
Ok, so you've got "Reagan Republicans," and "Goldwater Republicans," but this guy's clearly in the "Ted Nugent Republican" tradition. Forget trickle-down economics; stock-piling guns and returning to a beaver pelt-based economy is the way to go!

2. All hail Lord Reagan!
If there's such a thing as a saint in the world of the GOP, it's former president Reagan. When a Republican is passionate about Ronnie, he's really passionate, as we can see by just a few of the many out there dedicated to The Gipper, though I'm not sure Nancy would approve of the ass-tastic placement on the one just above….
1. Elephant Stomp!
And our number one of the week goes to this action-packed number, credit to Adam Hathorn at Guru Tattoo. Personally we'd avoid a political debate with anyone we see sporting something like this. Aww, poor donkey! We certainly hope he has access to affordable healthcare after this!!
